     The advanced open water course is for divers looking to take their diving to the next level, literally! The advanced course consists of E-learning and five open water dives. This course gives students the power to choose their own adventure and is for most people their first taste of the specialty courses. Of the five dives, two are mandatory. The deep dive where students will descend to depths great than 60ft and notice the effects that greater depths have on the environment and the divers themselves. The navigation dive introduces students to more complex navigation skills and offers them the opportunity to play more of an active role in planning dives and during the dive itself.

     The next three dives are entirely up to the student! Known as adventure dives, the next three dives offer students a small taste of the different specialty courses and give credit to the respective specialty should the student wish to continue further! Some of the adventure dives available are night, wreck, altitude, side-mount, boat, advanced buoyancy and nitrox, to name a few! This course gives divers the freedom to explore different disciplines of diving and to see what really interests them without the commitment of taking five separate courses at once.
